The California Assembly unanimously adopted ACR 195, a resolution honoring Jewish American Heritage Month, after 67 co-authors were added, according to the chamber’s floor session summary.
The resolution came up during a ceremonial portion of Monday’s session that included remarks from Assemblymember Gabriel and support from members of several caucuses, including the Legislative Jewish Caucus, Legislative Women’s Caucus, Legislative Black Caucus, Latino caucus, Native American caucus, Asian American and Pacific Islander caucus and Christian caucus. The summary says the chamber adopted the measure by voice vote.
The session also included an opening prayer by Rabbi Mona Alfie of Congregation Bene Israel, which was identified in the summary as the oldest synagogue in Sacramento and California.
The floor session summary and related transcript materials do not provide a vote tally beyond voice-vote adoption or list the full honoree roster tied to the ceremony.
