Humboldt County supervisors have added $1.5 million in program income to an existing $1 million HOME Investment Partnership award, expanding money available for first-time homebuyer assistance and tenant rental aid, according to the board’s June 16 minutes.
The board adopted the resolution 5-0 as part of its June 16 meeting, and the minutes identify the item as a Planning and Building Department action. The record says the added funding comes from program income rather than a new outside grant.
The minutes do not spell out how the county will divide the extra money between homebuyer help and rental assistance, or when the funds will be put out for use. Planning and Building staff could later provide more detail on the source of the program income and any changes to application timing or eligibility.
