Shasta County supervisors are being asked to approve a budget amendment that would increase appropriations by $300,000 in the county’s Alcohol & Drug Programs Budget, or BU 422, according to a staff report for the June 30 board meeting.
The staff report says the increase would be offset by General Purpose Restricted Fund Balance and would cover projected pending invoices from Partnership Health Plan tied to Drug-Medi-Cal Organized Delivery System services. County staff said the spending is intended to support regional model services for substance use disorder treatment.
The report says the requested amendment would increase year-end projections by about 2%, after what staff described as extensive review and corrections to the invoices during the year.
Staff also warned that if supervisors decline to approve the amendment, the county may not have enough budget authority to pay pending invoices due through the end of fiscal 2025-26.
The proposal carries a 4/5 vote requirement. The report says the county Administrative Office approved the recommendation and the Auditor-Controller reviewed the budget amendment. It also says there would be no additional General Fund impact if the board approves the change.
