The Eureka City Council approved a $76,131.03 appropriation from Water Reserves for the closeout of an emergency repair to the Mad River Pipeline during its Oct. 20 meeting.
The city’s official agenda listed the action as consent-calendar item G.3, “Mad River Pipeline Leak Emergency Repair-Closeout.” It called for the money to be placed in account 501-4700-7080 to cover repair-related costs and authorized filing a Notice of Completion with the County Recorder.
The archived meeting record shows that council members pulled the Carson Park playground item, G.2, from the consent calendar. G.3 remained on consent. After a motion to approve the remaining consent items, the meeting record reports five yes votes and that the motion carried.
The approval authorizes the appropriation and the next step of filing a completion notice. It does not, based on the records available for this report, establish the repair’s final cost or show that the Notice of Completion has been executed and recorded. The recording date and document number, along with any final expenditure or remaining balance, were not located.
