The Humboldt Bay Harbor, Recreation and Conservation District is asking commissioners to authorize an $810,000 contract with the Northern California Indian Development Council to support tribal engagement, consultation and capacity-building tied to planning and design for the Humboldt Bay Offshore Wind Heavy Lift Marine Terminal Project.
The item appears on the district’s Sept. 10 regular meeting agenda, which says the executive director would be authorized to negotiate and execute the agreement using Waterfront Facility Improvement Program grant funds.
The agenda says the work would involve engaging tribal governments and tribal organizations in the marine terminal planning process. It does not spell out the underlying contract terms, payment schedule or timeline.
The offshore wind terminal item is part of a broader agenda that also includes a project status update, a mariculture presentation and a resolution reaffirming support for Humboldt Bay mariculture operations.
The board’s meeting is scheduled for Sept. 10 at the Woodley Island Marina Meeting Room in Eureka.
