Rio Dell’s Aug. 18 City Council agenda places a joint letter of support for Opportunity Zone 2.0 designation on the council’s discussion-and-possible-action calendar.
The agenda says the letter concerns census tracts in Arcata, Fortuna and Rio Dell. It does not identify the sponsoring agencies, include the proposed letter language or say how the council might act.
Because the item is listed for discussion and possible action, Rio Dell’s public stance on the regional economic-development designation is set to become a live council issue at the Aug. 18 meeting, even though the agenda itself does not show a final vote or outcome.
The same agenda also lists a wastewater capital budget amendment and purchase related to replacement biosolid dryer rotary unions, along with routine items including approval of the Aug. 4 minutes, receipt of the July check register and a city manager/staff update.
The meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. at City Council Chambers in City Hall, 675 Wildwood Ave.
