The Humboldt Bay Harbor, Recreation and Conservation District says maintenance dredging at Woodley Island Marina remains important for navigation and mooring, but there are still no planned dredging activities.
In the district’s July 9 board agenda, staff says the marina dredging need is still pressing, but rising costs and weaker economic conditions have slowed further work. The agenda says the district previously awarded a 2023 bid to The Dura Group for dredging roughly 64,753 cubic feet over two cycles in 2024 and 2025 for nearly $3,500.
The agenda also says the district remains in open application with FEMA for assistance. It does not give a schedule for the next dredging cycle or say when new work might be authorized.
The item is part of a broader July 9 agenda that also includes a monthly status update on the Humboldt Bay Offshore Wind Heavy Lift Marine Terminal Project and a review of the district’s conflict-of-interest code.
