Big Lagoon Union Elementary School District’s draft agenda for its Sept. 8 board meeting places a slate of policy and staffing decisions in front of trustees, including proposed adoptions of new English language arts and math curricula, handbook review, an LCAP update and a classified pay-scale revision tied to ELOP educator positions.
According to the draft agenda, trustees are set to consider adopting National Geographic Reach for Reading for ELA in grades K-6, McGraw Hill My Math for grades K-5 and Open Up Math Curriculum for grades 6-8.
The same agenda says the employee handbook is “not ready to adopt,” while the parent and student handbook is listed for discussion and review. It also includes 2026-27 LCAP revisions, a Williams Quarterly Report, a public hearing on the sufficiency of instructional materials, and the Proposition 28 Annual LEA Report.
In the compensation section, trustees are scheduled to consider a classified pay schedule revision for “ELOP Educator” positions, but the agenda does not include fiscal detail or say whether the board will approve the change.
The meeting is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Sept. 8 at Big Lagoon School, Room 2, and the agenda says it will also be available online. No final board action or vote is shown in the agenda.
