The Fortuna Union High School District Board of Trustees is scheduled to consider reimbursement options for transportation disruptions related to the Highway 36 slide at its Oct. 19 meeting.

The district’s Oct. 19 governing board agenda lists the item for discussion and possible action. Trustees are expected to choose among maintaining the status quo, a reimbursement plan effective Oct. 20, 2026, or a reimbursement plan effective Aug. 12, 2026.

The agenda does not state a reimbursement rate, total amount, eligibility rules or payment schedule. It also does not show which option the board adopted; that would need to be confirmed through meeting minutes, an action record or the district’s final reimbursement plan.

The meeting is scheduled to begin with closed session at 5 p.m. and open session at 6 p.m. at the Fortuna High School Library, 379 12th St.
